School governors are people who want to make a positive contribution to children’s education. Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. The role of the governing body is absolutely key to the effectiveness of a school, each governor has a responsibility which relates to the School Improvement Plan (referred to as SIP). Monitoring Pair visits will relate to priorities and will be evaluated on the School Improvement Plan. It has been decided that Teynham Governing Body will be made up with 12 governors operating under the Circle Model, represented as follows:
