Frozen Kingdom
This term, year 5 have been learning about the Arctic and Antarctic. We have made sculptures out of soap and clay, we made animals which we have researched about. Some of these animals are penguins, polar bears, orcas and many, many more. Sadly, the population of these animals is rapidly decreasing because of the climate crisis.

This term, year 5 have been learning about the Arctic and Antarctic. We have made sculptures out of soap and clay, we made animals which we have researched about. Some of these animals are penguins, polar bears, orcas and many, many more. Sadly, the population of these animals is rapidly decreasing because of the climate crisis.
We have been reading a book called The Last Bear which follows April and her dad as they go on an icy adventure through Bear Island. We have used this story to support our English, we have written poems which are displayed in the classroom window, have a read! We also wrote setting descriptions, ask us about some features we used in our writing. Next week we are going to write our own adventure stories.
We created mood boards in art and are looking at Inuit inspired art, here are a couple of our pieces of artwork.
